IBP always needs quality books to send overseas. Holding a book drive is a great way to help. Below is an outline of what to consider when holding a book drive.

Location

Hold your book drive at a place that gets lots of traffic. Universities, schools, and churches are great places to hold a book drive. Use large bins with legible signage. We have more information about marketing in our IBP Book Drive PDF.

Sorting

  • All books must be in excellent physical condition (no broken bindings, excessive writing, missing or torn pages or covers)
  • Textbooks must be copyrighted year 2000 or newer
  • No magazines or academic journals

Please visit the donate books page to view the types of books we most need.

Shipping

The least expensive way to ship books to IBP is library rate, which you should be able to get by asking your post office. If you have more than 300 pounds of books you may want to consider shipping the books by freight.

Fundraising

IBP must find funds to ship the books you donate overseas. We ask that each book drive try to donate $1 per book to help pay for overseas shipping.
