Part-Time Office Manager

The International Book Project (IBP) is seeking an individual to process all financial donations, manage the paperwork for our Mail-Bag Program, and assist the Executive Director as needed. This individual must be organized, detail-oriented, flexible, friendly, and able to multi-task well.
Responsibilities:
- Process financial donations
- Write thank-you notes for donations
- Maintain donor database and mailing list
- Manage IBP's M-Bag program
- Prepare and process paperwork for M-Bag shipments
- Correspond with Mail-Bag recipients via email
- Assist with general administratie tasks, as needed
Position Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and excellent organization skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook

Americorps VISTA - Marketing & Volunteer Coordinator
Start Date: August 2008
Hours per week: 40
Responsibilities:
Public Relations and Marketing - 1) Update website, 2)Develop, design, and write newsletter, and 3) Write and distribute press releases
Volunteer Management - 1) Create procedures for volunteer recruitment and management, 2) Maintain volunteer database, 3) Coordinate and oversee volunteer projects, and 4) Transform certain administrative and warehouse tasks to volunteer-run programs.
Fundraising - 1) Identify new grant opportunities, 2) Assist in preparation of grants and reporting of grants
Position Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and communications skills
- Ability to work independently
- Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, required. Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, desired or willingness to learn.
- Bachelor’s degree required

Americorps VISTA - Books as Bridges Coordinator
Start Date: July 2008
Hours per week: 40
Books as Bridges is an international pen pal program between Central Kentucky classrooms and classrooms in developing countries around the world. The mission of the program is to improve cross cultural awareness in Kentucky classrooms and foster international relationships between students.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit both Central Kentucky teachers and international classrooms to participate
- Match Central Kentucky classrooms with international classrooms
- Develop and distribute Books as Bridges toolkit to Central Kentucky teachers
- Communicate and manage contacts between Kentucky and foreign classrooms
- Visit classrooms to present a cultural lesson and engage the children in dialogue about the country where their pen-pal classroom resides
Position Qualifications:
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable working with children
- Self-motivated with ability to see a project through from conception to completion with minimal oversight
- Excellent organizational skills and creativity
- Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, ability to use internet for research
- Bachelor’s Degree required
