Each year, one of our loyal supporters, K.K. Gregg, issues a challenge grant to IBP donors as a means of raising funds for large book shipments. Mrs. Gregg matches money donated to IBP dollar for dollar up to a maximum of $5,000. This year she has agreed to match funds to support a literacy project that will provide over 10,000 school and library books to 10 schools in the Philippines. This means that every $1.00 you donate to the International Book Project will be matched 100%.

I would like to invite you to participate in the 2007 Gregg Challenge Grant by making a $50.00 minimum donation, which, when matched, will send 100 books to school children in the Philippines.

Over the past several years, the Gregg Challenge Grant has made a real impact in the world by sending 15,000 books to rebuild the Pristina and Gjakova libraries that were burned during the 1999 Balkan conflict in Kosovo. The challenge grant also funded the shipment of 20,000 textbooks to women’s schools in Northern Kabul, Afghanistan. Last year, as a result of the Gregg Challenge Grant and your matching funds, approximately 10,000 books were sent to schools in Sisaket province, an impoverished region in northeastern Thailand.
